Conclusion

As conclusion, what can I say about all the topics discussed above is all are interrelated to each other whereby the information system needs medium in delivering it that contributes to the management of the system especially in organization that runs business. Then, the business has its own challenges and barriers that are competitive between the companies in the market. In order to remain their business, they need to compete. Next, it is also involve the globalization as one of the factors in managing the business. Globalization itself gives wide impact to all over the world, not only on the business but in all aspects related such as educational, cultures, environment and so on.

In this subject or course named Human Resource Information System (HRIS), I learn about the technology, the system that involves in managing the information and also about the world usage of information that comes from globalization effects. This course has opened my mind and my eyes about the real world. What has happening now and how fast the changes of information technology takes place. Before this, I just view on the world without thinking deeply and beyond about what happen to the world today. It is interesting to know how fast the changes happen and reasons why we also should change according to the world changes so that we will not left behind.

I as a university student should view this as a need of life that I must know and aware about the information system and changes from time to time. This is because I am one of the persons that will suits with the situation, the new era that technologies change rapidly. The changes of technologies will affect the speed of information being spread out. All these also lead to the development of cultures and country to be advance country like Japan and others.

post 4 - Globalization

Globalization

This topic will bring us beyond of our views. I just remember that for the first time I heard the word of “globalization”, I think about globe that refers to the earth. The time was I in primary school. I know nothing about globalization at that time. Now, let’s look at a few definitions of globalization. Globalization is the key social, economic, political, and cultural process of our time. (Shanti K. Khinduka.2008). Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well-being in societies around the world. (The Levin Institute.2013).

From my view on globalization, it is good because it will standardize the usage of something that able to make the users use the same thing. For instance, globalization has had the effect of encouraging a common language for the world. That language is, at least for now, English. Even though it is only the fourth most spoken native language on Earth, it has become the language of business. A vast majority of the world's Internet traffic, mail and mass media is in English. (Kent Ninomiya). English is a language that now being communication language in all over the world. It helps us to be easy in communication with the people from different countries, races and cultures. For me as a student, I view it as a good way to have a standard language to connect to each other so that whenever I want to speak with my friends that come from different countries, I will able to communicate with them by using the English language.

Besides, in term of education, globalization also gives good effect on it because we able to search the best educational facilities in the world without any obstacles or hindrance. It is actually beyond our views and unlimited.

Competitive of Information System

This topic will discuss about competitive of Information System that divided into two that are competitive forces and competitive strategies.

Based on Porter’s Competitive Forces Model, there are FIVE competitive forces in information system; traditional competitors, new market entrants, substitute products and services, customers and last but not least is suppliers. What makes the organization compete to each other and how the company remains in the market? All the above five competitive forces will affect the organization’s production.

As we know, every force plays its own roles due to its own importance in information system that must be countered by the organization in maintaining their place and competing to each others. Each of the forces should be well managed in the information system because it contributes to the down or up of the organization.

So, if the organization wants to achieve the target of their business, I think they should well managing and developing the forces will help a business to succeed. An organization that involves in any business must be creative and innovative enough in creating new alternatives or ways in competing with their competitors. I also think that the organization must have targets and strategies on what should be done for future in order to maintain their place in global market.

There are also FIVE main competitive strategies that should be countered by the organization in information system that closely related to their business. The five strategies are cost leadership, differentiation strategy, innovation strategy, growth strategy, and alliance strategy.

In order to make sure the organization is compete well with their competitors, I think the organization must look at the all strategies thoroughly and should not just take it for granted because all the strategies must be well planned. For instance, an organization should learn from past or previous situation. What has happened before should be revised again and do some correction on the previous strategies that has implemented in order to get better strategies to compete with the global business that emerge well in over the world.

Strategies also should be early planned and must be well revised to make sure it really means to the organization as global and international business because they should compete with a lot of competitors that have so many strategies that may put them in low position of global market. I also think that every single strategy should be studied well by the expertise and must have relevant estimation on what is going to happen in future.

Post 2 - Introduction of Information System

Introduction of Information System

When mention about Information System (IS), automatically I will think about information and computer that will connect with internet. Actually, when I study about IS, I know that it is not only refer to the information technology (ICT) that an organization use for their business operations and so on. To be more accurate about the IS, look at this definition of IS. “An information system (IS) refers to a collection of multiple pieces of equipment involved in the dissemination of information. Hardware, software, computer system connections and information, information system users, and the system’s housing are all part of an IS.” (Corry Janssen. 2008)

From my understanding, Information System is not only refer to the information technology (ICT) that an organization uses, also aims to support operations, management and decision making, but also to the way in which people interact with this technology in support of business processes. So, information system is a very important system in this era in business running due to the globalization, the increasing of the economy, transformation of the business enterprise and also the emergence of the digital firm. A good business must have a good and manageable information system within the organization.

From my view on this current topic, I can see how information being distributes via a medium that no longer weird in this era of globalization that is internet. Internet plays a very important role as connector to all over the world virtually but efficient and effective. It can help us to communicate, collaborate, access information, participate in discussion, supply information and find entertainment. All these may exchange the business and government transactions.

As what I have learnt, there are many challenges of information system, both in positive and negative sides. For positive side, it able to faster calculations and paperwork, analysis of customer purchase patterns and preferences, more efficient business services and also medical advances. For negative side, it may leads to job elimination, privacy concerns, systems outage or shutdown, health problems and stress.

Post 1 - Introduction of myself

Assalamu'alaikum w.b.t...

Hi everyone, thank you for visiting my blog. Okay, first, let me introduce myself. My name is Noorhayati binti Che Razak. The meaning of my name is "cahaya hidupku". I am 21 years old on this current year. I come from Terengganu, was born there and also grew up there. Both of my parents were also from Terengganu. We lived at Kampung Darat Batu Rakit, inner area of Kuala Terengganu. 

Now, I will shortly tell about my family. Starting from my father. My father’s name is Che Razak bin Mohamad. He is 59 years old, working as a guard at a primary school. My mother’s name is Najidah binti Abd Razak. She is 50 years old and a full time housewife. I have 11 siblings, 7 boys and 4 girls. I also have 4 elder brothers, only 1 elder sister, 3 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters. All of my elder brothers already work and only one of them were still not married but will be married on the end of this October. The only one sister that I have is now still studying but already get married and had a daughter. A little one. Now, she is studying abroad, in Jordan together with her husband. All my younger brothers and sisters are studying.

More about myself. I am now studying at University Technology Malaysia, UTM located at Skudai, Johor. I am third year student. Before I was transferred here, I studied at UTM International Campus located at Kuala Lumpur for one year. Previously, before I join UTM, I studied at Matriculation College of Pahang at Gambang for 1 year, studied course of Physical Science.

I am just a simple person, simple in dressing, simple in spending money and so on. But, I love to talk when I know about the topics or what I am going to talk. Sometimes, I talk so much but whenever I face with problems, I automatically being a silent one and may be a passive one, not in a good mood to chit chat with others. One thing that I want to let you know is......I like PINK colour..! ;-)
