Globalization
This topic will bring us beyond of our
views. I just remember that for the first time I heard the word of “globalization”,
I think about globe that refers to the earth. The time was I in primary school.
I know nothing about globalization at that time. Now, let’s look at a few
definitions of globalization. Globalization is the key social, economic,
political, and cultural process of our time. (Shanti K. Khinduka.2008). Globalization is a process
of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of
different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well-being in societies around the world. (The Levin Institute.2013).
From my view on
globalization, it is good because it will standardize the usage of something
that able to make the users use the same thing. For instance, globalization has
had the effect of encouraging a common language for the world. That language
is, at least for now, English. Even though it is only the fourth most spoken
native language on Earth, it has become the language of business. A vast
majority of the world's Internet traffic, mail and mass media is in English. (Kent Ninomiya). English is a language that now being
communication language in all over the world. It helps us to be easy in
communication with the people from different countries, races and cultures. For
me as a student, I view it as a good way to have a standard language to connect
to each other so that whenever I want to speak with my friends that come from
different countries, I will able to communicate with them by using the English
language.
Besides, in term
of education, globalization also gives good effect on it because we able to
search the best educational facilities in the world without any obstacles or
hindrance. It is actually beyond our views and unlimited.
